An FHA loan is a mortgage issued by an FHA-approved lender (Ascension Credit Union) and insured by the Federal Housing Administration (FHA).

What are the Louisiana FHA Loan Requirements?

If you are a qualifying member who wants to take out an FHA loan in Lousiana, here are the requirements:

  • 580 credit score or higher

  • Proof of employment for at least 2 years

  • Provide applicable financial statements

  • Debt-to-income ratio can be no higher than 43%

  • Occupy the home that you intend to purchase and have it be your primary residence
